【摘要】:Thisstandardspecifiesamethodtomeasuretheelongationofaselfadhesivetapewhenitissubjectedtoatensileforcesufficienttocauseittobreak.Theelongationatbreakoftheadhesivetapeisofvalueasanindicationofitsuniformityandquality,aswellasaroughindicationofitsabilitytoconformtocurvedandirregularsurfaces.Itisusuallydeterminedatthesametimeasthebreakingstrength.Themaximumwidthofadhesivetapetestedbythismethodis25mm.Foradhesivetapesofthiswidthorless,theelongationatbreakmeasuredcorrespondstothatassuppliedcommercially,withfactory-cutedges.Foradhesivetapeswiderthan25mm,thistestmethodprovidesforthetapetobecutdownto25mmwithawell-sharpenedinstrument.Insuchcases,becauseofthebettercuttingoftheedges,theresultscanbehigherthanwouldbefoundoncommercialadhesivetape.
